What Is MyHistoryLab?

MyHistoryLab is a state-of-the-art interactive and instructive solution for use in American History, Western Civilization, and World History survey courses, designed to enrich and enliven traditional lecture courses or to completely administer the course online.

MyHistoryLab gives access to a wealth of resources all geared to meet the individual teaching and learning needs of every instructor and every student.  It provides students with the ultimate online package complete with numerous study resources and interactive tools as well as a comprehensive chapter exam. Features and Benefits

  • Primary Sources. Each chapter of your book has its own collection of images, documents, audio clips, and video clips. These all have a contextual head note and several analysis questions.

  • History Bookshelf. Read, download, or print fifty of the most commonly assigned works like Thomas Paine's Common Sense, Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, or Machiavelli's The Prince.

  • History Toolkit. The History Toolkit gives students an edge in taking their history course with its guided tutorials that explain the difference between primary and secondary sources and help students learn to analyze several types of sources. Also included are a history course survival guide called Everything You Need to Know About Your History Course, Tutorial: How to Analyze Primary Sources, PLUS links to selected websites.

  • Map Activities. Each chapter contains a map activity in which students assess a map from the time period covered and take a brief geography quiz for the chapter.

  • Pre-test and Post-test Self-Study Quizzes with Targeted Feedback. Two quizzes per chapter allow students to review their knowledge of the material and concepts. Chapter feedback provides links that take students directly to the relevant section of the textbook online.

  • Chapter Review Materials. A Study Guide, PowerPoint presentations, flashcards, and other features help students master the contents of the textbook and prepare for exams.

  • E-book. Students can print out sections of the book for reading anywhere, or read the book online. E-sources for each chapter are accessible from the textbook, contextually.

  • Chapter Exams. Each chapter has a chapter exam whose results report to an online grade book.

  • Your Textbook's Test Bank. Create your own exams using the test bank from your text, and place them right in MyHistoryLab for your students to take as practice quizzes or as graded exams.
